Rising damp treatment across Flintshire

Rising damp is unsightly, potentially unhealthy and often leads to timber decay in older buildings. That is why it is important to recognise if you have a rising damp problem. The most obvious signs include mouldy spots on the wall, flaking paint, peeling wallpaper and plaster that feels damp and cold to the touch. At this point, it is not enough to treat these damaged areas with only mortar and paint. An intensive corrective treatment is required to prevent total dilapidation of your building.

Electro osmotic treatment for severe rising damp damage

The electro osmotic damp proofing system is a proven technology in the control of rising damp. It provides an effective, environmentally friendly and chemical free damp control solution without any associated health and safety risks, passing strict COSHH regulations. This treatment system is self healing and can be used on properties of any age or structure.

How does electro osmosis work?
The electro osmotic system introduces a very small and perfectly safe electric current into the wall to repel moisture particles back into the ground. So your walls are protected from damp, remaining dry as long as this tiny electrical charge is maintained. Installation is neat and quick, with a virtually invisible finished result and minimal disruption.

Chemical injection treatment for your property

We also carry out chemical damp proof courses where we inject a waterproofing chemical (often silicone) into the bricks. As the bricks are porous, they will soak up the chemical and retain it. Once the brick is saturated, it can no longer absorb water. We will then perform damp course replastering work in accordance with the British Board of Agrément (BBA) Certificate.

Dryzone paste treatment for the prevention of rising damp
For this treatment, we use a range of high quality Triton chemicals, especially the Triject 3 DPC Fluid to prevent rising damp in walls. Triject 3 is a water-based damp proofing liquid injected into walls affected by rising dampness. Within the walls, this liquid then reacts with carbon dioxide to form a permanent water repellent coating.

All treatments are carried out following BS6576:1985 guidelines. So you can have peace of mind in the high standards of our treatment service.
